A Little Update on the House

Mark's parents came to help us out last week. We are so thankful for it! Mark and dad worked hard on the laminate floors and several other projects around the house. All of the downstairs is painted, except for the kitchen (that can be done after we move in). The appliances are in!!! We are working on getting the upstairs painted, the carpet gets put in on monday. Mom entertained the kids while I painted and kept everyone fed (dad's favorite part of the day!). Below are some snapshots...Mark just loves his picture taken!

Our First Family Campout

We went camping over the weekend at Dos Picos State Park in Ramona. It is about an hour drive. It was a family campout organized by our church and approximately 60 families attended. Our first night was miserable! The kids were warm in their sleeping bags, but Mark and I only had a thick blanket for 40 degree weather. What were we thinking???? We slept on air mattresses that ended up feeling like an ice block. Fortunately, my friend had 2 extra sleeping bags and we used those the next night. The kids had a blast riding their bikes, fishing, having campfires, playing on the playground and just out exploring with their friends. The meals were a little challenging for me, this being my first camping trip. Overall it was a lot of fun. The kids are asking us when our next one will be.

After a long day of removing junk and trash left from the previous owners our house is ready to be painted. The kids seem to like it. We are exhausted...

Kindergarten Open House

Brandon's Open House was last week. He enjoyed showing us his artwork and we got to talk to his teacher (we couldn't have asked for a better one!!!). He's doing great! He's been consistent throughout the year and is at 2nd grade reading level. Can you tell we are proud of him? :-)
