Laguna Get Away

This past Saturday my friend and I got away and spent the day in Laguna Beach.
Our big adventure was to go kayaking. We were both a little anxious about it. We got over it quickly and had a blast. Got to see numerous dolphins and seals. It was so much fun!

We hung out, did some shopping, had lunch and dinner with no "kid interruption".

A much needed little break, thank you honey!

Our Once a Year Camping Trip

This is our fourth year attending the campout put on by our church. There were 200 people, it gets bigger every year. This year the boys were very independent and were gone for most of the time.  They'd come back and check in, get some water and food and go back out exploring with their friends. Alexa did some exploring too but also enjoyed hanging out with Mark and I.

Sleeping is always rough the first night, by the second night you're so tired that you basically just collapse and wake up the next morning. Mark and I took turns making breakfast. Jonathan unfortunately brought home a poison ivy rash. Poor kid. He's been a trooper, though.

They all caught their own fish.

All 3 of them were scared of touching the fish and getting the fish off the hook.

The boys enjoyed climbing the boulders.

Face painting fun.

Lex loves giving Maggie hugs.

Butterfly Jungle

Every year the Wild Animal Park has a Butterfly Jungle. We walked through it this year. Kids had a good time trying to get the butterflies to land on them.

Alexa at 6 and 3/4

Alexa and I found this spot 2 years ago.  It's nestled in one of the entrances to our neighborhood.
Just me and her - no boys.  Great times!

Check out the pictures when she was 4.5 at http://thebauckmanfive.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

They grow up too fast.
